Sasha Herman (1993), is an artist based in Rotterdam The Netherlands. Educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, he developed an interest in stop motion animation which still features in his work today. Using animation as the basis of his practice, he works in a variety of styles, using a large selection of different materials, from found objects to purpose build analogue machines. The materials he uses inform the work, which range from abstract films, to narrative shorts and installations.

As well as his own individual practice, Sasha is a founding member of the MADLAB studio. The MADLAB is a Rotterdam based artist initiative based on the principle of collaboration. The initiative has been responsible for organising both physical and online projects and shows which have taken place as far a field as Berlin and Los Angeles.
